CHW Distributes More than $260,000 in Grants PDF  | Print |  Email

Catholic Healthcare West’s Bay Area Hospitals are giving almost $270,000 in grants to 17 local agencies in San Francisco and San Mateo counties. The agencies have a common mission of identifying health priorities in target populations and creating programs to address those needs, according to a CHW release.

The grants, from $5,000 to $25,000, will affect health issues ranging from mental illness to chronic disease management and support community-based programs tha provide services from birth to end-of-life. This year’s recipient’s organizations reach out to local ethnic communities and provide services to multiple generations from infants to the elderly.

The local agencies that were chosen to receive grants are:

Peninsula Volunteers, Inc.
San Francisco Senior Center
Rebuilding Together Peninsula
Self Help for the Elderly

Second Harvest Food Bank
Most Holy Redeemer AIDS Support Group
 
St. Paul of the Shipwreck After School 
 
St. Vincent de Paul Riley Center
 
Southeast Health Center
